Mid life management clinics

Many women compare menopause to sailing uncharted waters. Although it’s a natural biological process — or in some cases the result of surgery — the physical symptoms can disrupt an otherwise healthy, active life. Midlife Women’s Health offers a full-range of safe, effective treatments so that women can fully enjoy their middle years.

Evidence-based Care and Preventive Health
We established the scientifically based approach of Midlife Women’s Health as a safe and effective alternative to the popularly advertised “anti-aging” clinics that offer compounded systemic hormones and injectable pellets—treatments that have not been proven safe or effective. If hormone therapy is called for, we use only bioidentical hormones approved by the Indian Food and Drug Administration, the agency responsible for protecting and advancing public health. After menopause, a woman’s risk of certain medical conditions increases. For example, when estrogen levels decline, the risk of cardiovascular disease increases. Bone density may decrease at a rapid rate, increasing the risk of osteoporosis. Midlife Women’s Health provides heart health screenings specific to female physiology, as well as bone health screenings and other preventive care screenings based on health history, so our patients can stay on top of any issues that may be emerging.

Certified Menopause Practitioners
Our doctors are skilled at diagnosing and coordinating treatment for women’s unique needs at midlife, ranging from peri-menopause and menopause management, to sexual health issues and osteoporosis, as well as any changing primary care and gynecologic needs. To ensure our patients are getting the best of care, our doctors pursue advanced credentialing to become certified menopause practitioners. We typically work in collaboration with each patient’s own doctor. Patients are also welcome to choose a doctor from the Midlife Women’s Health staff to be their primary care physician. Our services are covered by insurance.

In-depth Consultations and Customized Treatments
We take the time to listen to and share reassuring medical knowledge with our patients, to help them feel confident and comfortable during this major life transition. Patients begin with a one-on-one consult with a certified doctor. These hour-long comprehensive medical sessions provide personalized guidance on the best course of treatment and ongoing management of menopause. Women may then follow the treatment under the care of their own family doctor, or choose one of our team to be their primary care physician.

Each patient receives:
  • A comprehensive personal health assessment—including personal and family histories—and a thorough physical exam.
  • Treatment recommendations that use only safe and scientifically based remedies and/or lifestyle changes that have proven effective.
  • A personalized menopause management plan, with an individual health assessment and treatment goals.
  • A written report summarizing all results along with educational materials.
